Blog: Boston on a Budget

Say Hi To Your Founding Fathers

Boston is one of the centers of American history, and while you can see many artifacts and relics of our history in the city's museums, there's also somewhere you can go to see the men behind the legends for yourself. In the heart of downtown Boston, just over a mile from our South End hotel, is the Granary Burying Ground, first established in 1660 and home to several thousand of Boston's earliest citizens. Along with locally notable historical figures, such as Massachusetts governors, mayors and clergymen, you'll also find Samuel Adams, John Hancock and Paul Revere, among others. Free to the public and a must-see for any American history buff, the Granary Burying Ground offers a chance to pay tribute to some of the men who built this country.
